Part 5: The Suit Simon Built For A King
Their next stop was a luxury tailoring studio in Austin’s historic district owned by Simon Whitmore, a legendary British tailor known for dressing senators, hedge fund billionaires, and Fortune 500 executives.
The elderly tailor greeted Raymond warmly the moment he entered.
“Good Lord, Raymond Miller.”
Simon laughed in disbelief.
“I assumed you intended to remain hidden in that mechanic shop until death.”
Raymond pointed toward Alexander.
“My son needs armor.”
Simon studied Alexander carefully for nearly thirty seconds.
Then slowly he nodded.
“Strong shoulders.”
He circled thoughtfully.
“Excellent posture beneath the damage.”
Finally he smiled faintly.
“This man was never built to serve smaller men.”
An hour later Alexander emerged wearing a charcoal-gray Italian suit tailored perfectly against his athletic frame.
For the first time since being thrown out by the Sterlings, he no longer resembled a defeated employee.
He looked dangerous.
Capable.
Powerful.
Alexander stared at himself silently in the mirror.
“I barely recognize myself.”
Raymond adjusted his tie carefully.
“That’s because humiliation forced you to forget who you actually are.”
